New Horizons Child Care, Inc.’s primary objective is to provide quality care in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. New Horizons Child Care believes that a reading and literacy foundation will stimulate the early developing mind and provide an irreversible passion for learning in the years to follow. We will foster and support emergent reading and writing by offering a variety of avenues for children to experience and express themselves throughout the day. Our curriculum is based on integrated themes from award winning books that are culturally diverse and unbiased. All ages will be exposed to a variety of authors and their uniqueness, whether it is in illustration, story telling, poetry, repetition, rhyme or rhythm. Through the use of art, creative movement, drama, music and hands on experiences in science, children will develop a strong basis for literacy as well as physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually and creatively. We strongly feel it is the process that counts, not the product.
Professional instructors will use small group time to introduce or reinforce skills, listen to children’s ideas in planning, observe their actions and reactions and encourage children’s innovations on an individual basis.
At New Horizons Child Care, Inc. we strive to create an atmosphere that will be relaxed and comfortable with pleasant meaningful conversations, encouraged by the use of open ended questions, spontaneous laughter and out bursts of excitement.
At New Horizons Child Care, Inc. we encourage age appropriate independence in daily activities such as picking up toys, toileting, hand washing and putting on and taking off jackets. The instructor will establish with the children clear and consistent rules of behavior and the reasons for them. Positive procedures are practiced in problem situations.
New Horizons Child Care, Inc. as professional child care providers, recognize that parents are the principal influence in their child(ren)’s lives. Parents are welcome to visit our center anytime. New Horizons Child Care Inc. believes in keeping parents involved and aware of daily, weekly and monthly activities that affect their child(ren). We also feel the community is a very important influence and strive to have interactive presentations incorporated throughout the year.
Special needs children are welcome to participate in developmentally appropriate activities, material and hands on experiences at New Horizons Child Care, Inc. Staff will be familiar with other available resources in the community and be able to refer parents if our program does not meet the child’s needs.
